Art Is Meant To Disturb
Art is meant to disturb – Georges Braque, one of the founders of modernism, inventor with Picasso of Cubism which revolutionised the way the pictorial surface could be represented, painted, interpreted.
Well, he would say that, wouldn’t he?
Far be it from me to argue with Braque, but I’m here to declare that art is not only meant to disturb, but to turb as well.
